A little bit about me
When you come to therapy you are asked to share intimate details about yourself and your life. It is my job to help you to feel safe and supported in sharing such information. Part of the way I go about doing this is by letting you know you also have the right to know a little bit about me. You have the right to know what makes me a good choice for joining you in your personal emotional journey.
Education: I have been pursuing an education in psychotherapy since the year 2007. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Psychology with a minor in Human Resources (Organizational Development). I also hold a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy. Both of these degrees were attained at Regis University.
Credentials: I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT.0001759) with the Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA).
Experience: Like many of us, through my life’s journey I too have suffered. Through this suffering I have come to know emotional pain. Not only my own, but also the pain of those I love dearly. Through all of my life these experiences have cultivated within me a developed sense of empathy. It is this sense of empathy that enables and inspires me to join with others as they walk through their own pain. I have walked in empathy with others from the time I was 13 years old, first as a peer counselor, then as a volunteer, later as a relational trainer in corporate America, and finally as a therapist.
Through these experiences I have worked with children of all ages experiencing difficulties, with elderly individuals and families facing end of life experiences, with families struggling with divorce and step or blended family challenges, and with individuals seeking to recover from trauma. Whatever your walk of life, I aspire to connect with, hold space, and invite relief for your struggles.
