Rev. Sheri Heller, LCSW is a psychotherapist and interfaith minister in private practice with over 30 years experience in the public and private sectors of NYC. Rev. Heller’s areas of expertise pertain to the comprehensive treatment of addictive disorders and complex PTSD, primarily rooted in child abuse and neglect and sexual abuse. She also specializes in women’s issues and narcissistic abuse and treats sundry diagnostic categories, such as depression, and anxiety disorders.
Sheri’s treatment approach is both traditional and holistic as she incorporates a psychoanalytic and behaviorally oriented knowledge base with (12-step) philosophy, hypnosis, Gestalt techniques, Jungian psychology, and other diverse spiritual and creative vehicles. Sheri facilitates individual, couples and group therapy. She is currently recruiting members for an Adult Survivors of Personality Disordered Parents Therapy Group.
Sheri is also a free-lance writer, a playwright and the creator of a therapeutic theater event for at-risk women and girls in the public sector of NYC. Sheri’s journey of recovery was told through an animated film short by OC87 Recovery Diaries and aired on PBS in 2017. She is the author of A Clinicians Journey from Complex Trauma to Thriving: Reflections on Abuse, C-PTSD and Reclamation and is listed as a media resource for journalists and bloggers.
