I offer over thirty years experience in trauma-focused psychotherapy with adults and groups. Therapy is essentially about moving energy. Coping skills may be developed in childhood to survive family-of-origin and cultural projection. As we age, pain results from using coping skills that no longer work and that continue to mask the authentic self. Our point of power is our willingness to change. Therapy may be about self-compassion and developing new coping skills. I specialize in treating the trauma of narcissistic and other abuses with EMDR (certified), Brainspotting (certified), WIEBGE (certified), EFT, narrative, systems, and cognitive therapies. I am the developer of the term, Chronic Loss Syndrome, a pattern of behavior in clients who suffer the loss of a way of life, or loss of a living person to a means other than death. One example is the losses incurred from growing up in a narcissistic family.
